The Guest House
Beaumont House was built by Pattinsons, a prominent local
builder of the time, and is a fine example of Victorian Architecture with many
of its original features; it has been tastefully refurbished and decorated in
a style befitting the age of the property yet providing all the modern
comforts necessary to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.Enjoy the comfortable and spacious lounge where you may wish to relax with a glass of wine or maybe something a little stronger from our small but well stocked ‘Honesty Bar’. You can peruse our activities folder and plan the next day’s activities or book a memorable tour on one of the many excursions available locally. Guests certainly feel at home in our Lounge – one or two have been known to ‘drop off’ after a busy day sightseeing.
Breakfast is served in a bright airy room on the ground floor. Start the day with a choice from our breakfast buffet table, a selection of teas or a Cafetiere of fresh coffee. Enjoy our special Cumbrian Breakfast made from local produce, wherever possible, including award winning sausages, the best back bacon, local free range eggs (fried, poached or scrambled) fresh grilled tomato, mushrooms and baked beans. We cater for guests with the heartiest of appetites, including vegetarians and those with special diets. (click here for breakfast menu)
Beaumont House has ten elegant double bedrooms, all individually decorated to a high standard; four on the ground floor and 6 on the first floor.
If your stay is to be a romantic occasion, why not reserve one of our Honeymoon Suites - 5’ king size mahogany or white four poster beds with all matching antique style furniture. Ensuites have either whirlpool baths or power showers. We will be delighted to arrange romantic presentations - Champagne - Chocolates - Roses.
