Our website provides pictures of a selection of our guest rooms and further information about the services we provide. You can contact us by telephone or email. Tel (015394 47075) or FAX (015394 88311). We aim to cater for the needs of all who visit Beaumont House.  We have 10 guest bedrooms; three of which are located on the ground floor. Access to the 1st floor is gained by a flight of 19 stairs (height of each step is 15 cms) to the six bedrooms located there. Access to the 2nd floor is gained by a flight of 19 stairs to the tenth bedroom – Please note we do not have a lift.


Windermere is located 16 miles from Junction 36, M6.  The railway station and bus station are located just off the A591 at the entrance to Windermere village; Beaumont House is situated at the other side of the village (a 3 – 5 minute’s taxi ride or 8 – 10minute walk).  Taxis are usually available throughout the day at the station entrance but if you wish we can pre-book a taxi to collect you on your arrival or supply you with taxi contact number.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

Please advise us of your estimated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you. Park your car within the white lines to enable your fellow guests to also park their vehicles.  Access from the car park is via a small step (5cms) leading to slightly sloping path which leads to the front porch.  There are a couple of more small steps (6 cms and then 15 cms) before you reach the front doors; the outer front door is 102 cms wide and inner front door is  94 cms wide. The inner front door is always locked – please use the ‘door bell (165cms High) at the inner front door.  Please ask if you need assistance with your luggage.


On arrival guests are required to complete and sign our registration form and will then be shown to their rooms. The facilities of Beaumont House will be explained. The Reception Area is well lit and there is a chair for guests’ convenience.

As we are a small family run establishment there may be times when Reception is not manned. Please press the bell near the Reception desk in the Hallway. There is usually a member of the family or staff available between 7.30 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. – if there is no one available on Reception a contact mobile telephone number will be displayed on the Reception Desk.

Public Areas 

Guest Lounge located on the ground floor close to the front door. Door width is 86 cms. An ‘honesty bar’ is provided in the Lounge for guests use. Please serve yourself and put payment in the slot on the counter top.

Our Breakfast Room is located on the ground floor close to the front door opposite the Guest Lounge. Door width is 86 cms. We offer a varied breakfast menu which suits most diets. Vegetarian and other diets can be catered for. We ask that guests inform us about special requirements before arrival.


Laundry facilities are not available on the premises although we can provide a drying room for guests clothing if damp.  We ask that guests do not wash large quantities of laundry in their rooms as this can lead to considerable condensation. There is a launderette and dry cleaners in Windermere village which is approximately a 5 minutes’ walk.


The nearest shopping facility is a 2 – 3 minutes’ walk in Windermere village where there are a number of shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The start of the Bowness centre is approximately a 10 minutes’ walk where there are additional shops, coffee shops and restaurants.


Bedroom door widths on the ground floor are 81cm with a corridor width of 83 cms. There is central heating throughout the house. The temperature of each guest bedroom is controlled by thermostatic controls on the radiators. Non allergenic duvets are provided on all beds and a flat sheet and a blanket are in the blanket bag in the wardrobe. Each bedroom has a hospitality tray with tea, coffee, sugar and milk and biscuits. In each room there is a hair dryer, a clock radio and a flat screen TV with remote control, and most rooms have a DVD Player. Each room has storage space which usually consists of a wardrobe, dressing table or chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. There is a guest toilet on the ground floor.


All rooms are en-suite and each en-suite has either shower gel and shampoo dispensers or individual toiletries.


We have a small shrubbery at the front of the property and a large lawned area adjacent to the car park. There is a bench at the side of the porch at the front and another in front of the dining room window.

Additional Information

Please read the fire notice which is located either on the back of your bedroom door or on the wall at one side. Should the fire alarm ring please follow the instructions and exit via the front door if evacuation is necessary. If you need assistance in this kind of emergency (e.g. hearing impairment, visual impairment and mobility restrictions) please let us know on arrival and we will ensure that you are evacuated safely.

There are two folders in each guest bedroom, one which gives tourist information about The Lake District, the other is our Welcome Folder which we hope will answer most (if not all) of your questions.

We are totally non-smoking. We do not allow take-away foods to be brought in – we provide a sample menu book in the lounge to assist guests.

Complimentary Internet access for guests bringing their own wifi enabled devices is available at Beaumont House.

Mobile phone signals can be received within the House.
